The PPA 250 is a Wide-band Listening System that operates in the 72-78 MHz frequency band. (the offered system is set to operate on 72.9 MHz.) The system offered here is a new display/demonstration system, designed to operate on 120 Volts, 60 Cycles.
Developed for hearing assistance in places of public access, such as churches, schools, auditoriums, and theaters and at conferences; the PPA 250 System is designed for those who need help in overcoming basckground noise, reverbertion, or distance from the sound source. It includes a complete audio processor optimized for the needs of hearing impaired persons. The system is normally used in conjunction with an existing public address system. It can also be used with a microphone as a stand-alone system.
The PPA 250 has two principal parts: the T4 transmitter and the R7 receivers. Much like a miniature radio station the T4 transmitter broadcasts the desired sounds over an FM radio signal. The R7 receivers pick up the broadcast up to 500 feet from the transmitter.
Listeners may sit anywhere and can make the audio signal as loud as they wish without disturbing others or causing feedback.
The included Instruction Guide and User Manual is extremely well written and very clear. If the instructions are followed meticulously most folks will be able to install and operate the system. If the assistance of a radio engineeer or licensed amateur radio operator were available, it would be a distinct advantage.
Items included in the system: 1 ea. PPA T4 Transmitter - 6 ea. PPA R7 receivers - 6 ea. EAR 013 earbud earphones - 1 ea. TPF 016 Power Supply - 1 ea. ANT 021 antenna - 1 ea. audio cable.
